And you?

I take home a year.

That is the average worker's, after tax. Put in yours for a year, bonuses and extra months' pay included, and the card and the list redo the sums. It stays on this page.

The sums

The average full-time worker in Lithuania earns €28,474 a year before tax and takes home €17,450 after income tax and social security contributions (OECD, 2025, a single worker without children). Divided by 2,080 working hours, an hour of work pays €8.39.

A Tesla Model Y: €41,010 ÷ €8.39 = 4,888 hours. Two whole working years, and the next until early May.
A Big Mac: €4.45 ÷ €8.39 = 0.53 hours, or 32 minutes.

The Tesla: Tesla's Lithuanian site shows €41,990: this price plus the €980 destination and documentation fee. Before the €5,000 government EV incentive it points to. Hours count 52 weeks of 40, whatever people in Lithuania actually work. More in what the index leaves out.
